You'd certainly want a full set, as they are matched from the factory when they get decked ... tolerances between 2 cases may cause you problems.

I have also heard that a number of people have mis matched them. I have not seen too many single case halfs for sale. Is it worth the savings?

SBT remans are mismatched. When you buy a reman from BRP, it's a mismatched set.

You can run them, you just need to take your time sealing the case halves.

you could find a reputable machine shop and have the halves planned very carefully and use a thicker gasket maybe..my .02

I have purchased a number of Remans directly from seadoo and the case halves from those engines are/have been MATCHED-- they actually stamped them w/ a tracking number sequense-- just my experience

I bet BRP re-aligns the cases if they are mismatched.

SBT=super black sealer (is) trowled on their cases like they are building a block wall....
