    Carb Adjustments after D-plate install

What carb adjustments need to be made after a d-plate installation?

My 2004 xlt1200 run in the low 60s before I installed the dplate and now it will not get over 50. No hesitation on hole shot or anything. Just lost some topend speed.

    Thanks ahead of time.

Are you using the speedo or a GPS?
I think some of the experts can answer better than me but that does not sound right. I know on both my 1200s I installed the free flow at the same time I did the d plate and did NOT make any changes to my carbs. I may have lost 1 mph.
To have a 10 mph lost, you have other issues.

Sorry I meant mid to high 50s on the top end not 60s. Riva suggest making a 1 1/4 +/- turn on the high speed screw. Didnt know if that would be the issue. Does it need more fuel or more air?

There should be no carb adjustment necessary for a d-plate install.

I have the same issue lost about 8MPH after the D-plate install. My high speed screws were all at 1 turn out per the Riva instructions I turned them to 1-1/4. Also I get more power at 3/4 throttle than at full throttle I actually lose about 2MPH when I open it all the way.

Was your cat complete maybe some broke off and is in your pipe My 2004Xlt gained a few Mph with the d-plate install of course it got a few other go-fast parts at the same time, best gps so far is 70.7 the d-plate should not need any carb adjustments trust osidebill he knows his stuff.

Alright I'm going to dial the carb setting back then (wonder why Riva would say richen it). The cat was not complete. I fished in the water box and could not find any pieces. Looked really good with a flashlight. I figured the pieces blew out. The skis got 170 hours on it. Where would the pieces stick if they were stuck?
