    Backfire RXT

Started my ski up yesterday and the motor backfired on me (LOUD!)

Now upon startup (on the hose) it jumps straight to 6800rpms!!

The throttle cable is not stuck or crimped and I don't think it is the tps.

    Any clues??

Uh oh ... if the rpms are up that high, my guess is you now have a cracked intake manifold that is allowing air in, resulting in the 6800 rpm 'idle' ...

You are right Vern. The bottom right side of the intake is blown out from the backfire.

Any ideas of what would have caused this? Recently installed a rr ecu and bypassed the resistor for my 05 model and ski was running poorly. Found a broken ic bracket that was causing boost leak and fixed it. I then tried to fire the ski up and that's when it backfired.
