Thread: Blown intake
05-25-2009, 11:50 AM #1
Any ideas of what would have caused this??? I recently installed a rr ecu and bypassed the resistor for my 05 model and ski was running poorly. I found a broken ic bracket that was causing boost leak and fixed it. I then tried to fire the ski up and that's when it backfired.
The result, a blown intake!! But what could have caused the backfire??
Any help, suggestions, advise or links to threads would be appreciated

You can always try to use some 3M Panel Bond and some straps/clamps and put it back together.
IIRC That's what Danny used to secure his new aluminum plenum to his manifold.

the backfire was probly caused by a leaking injector. same thing happened to georxt.

I'm not concerned with the intake itself, I'm probably just going to go with a new aluminum one.
I am trying to figure out what caused the back fire. I will check into the injectors.

Any help with this issue?? Anyone? So far all I'm getting is a possible leaking injector?

Leaking injector or broken rocker/spring on an exhaust valve.
