I'm having a difficult time following your thread but I can tell you that part number 5134562 is a Stainless Steel pump extension / wear ring that replaces the standard aluminum version. I hope this information helps you out.

    Welcome to the Hulk!

Click here for the Service and Parts manuals.

Is the wear ring (pump extension) that you have made from aluminum, or stainless steel?

I am guessing it is aluminum.

If you ride in salt water then you probably want to install a stainless steel wear ring.

Does your jet pump stator have five or six fixed blades? The five blade stators are aluminum, while the six, eight, and twelve blade stators are stainless steel.

    Some punctuation might be helpful

Is your 2001 Virage a two or three cylinder engine?

So you have a short jet pump, without the extension - correct?

And that would mean you have a shorter-than-stock drive shaft too.
How long is your drive shaft?
Is there a part number on it?

The plastic cooling water tube would also need to be the shorter version, as would the steering and reverse cables.

That is a lot of changes for someone to bother putting a shorter jet pump in a Virage.

Could you post a clear photo of the jet pump, out of the hull?
An angled view, so we can see the pump sections, would be good

i think it has a genesis style pump on it all except for the reverser flaper and cable im going to post photos it looks like it has never been apart befor this so im think they built something that dosnot match there parts digrams. maybe they where building genesis skys on the same asbly line and it was friday i dont know!!! you have to love when things are not like they should be!

Well, if that is what you have, it certainly isn't an extended jet pump.

Is your 2001 Virage a two or three cylinder engine?

Does it have fuel injection (spark plugs are at a low angle, not straight up)?

What would you like to do?
Convert it back to an extended jet pump?

BTW, all Virage models from the factory had the extended jet pump (as far as I know).
Edit: Genesis models from the factory had the non-extended jet pump (didn't know that until today )

Can you show us a photo of the ride plate that sits under the jet pump?
And the intake grate that is under the water intake tunnel?
