    RXP-X & Jet Draft Pump Relief Kit

    08 RXP-X

    Ok guys, I’ve been hanging around this site for over a year trying to learn something by paying attention and learning as much as possible about these 4-tec machines. Hopefully in another 5-10 years I will know as much as some of the members on this forum. I have read 1000s of threads posted and answered on this site (greatest forum in the world) in order to learn how to mod my own machines, I take great pride in being able to turn my own wrenches in those areas that I feel qualified. I am preparing a list to hit up Jerry’s store (all contingent on the Jet Draft Pump Relief Kit). I have listed below all current and proposed mods in order to get some feed back on the direction I am heading. I know these are all bolt-on parts and require a moderate amount of mechanical know how to install, tuning is a whole different ball game (there I can get myself in trouble). There are no qualified tuners in the area in which I live (Jerry’s 250 miles to the south), this leaves me with the task of trying to sort information and figure things out as I go (I think this is better). I do not wish to spend my hard earned cash unnecessarily or to later figure out I should have went a different direction. Any advice or criticism would be welcomed!!!!!

    Sounds like you have a handle on things...

    Man, if you do all those mods to that ski, it will be one mean machine!!!

    Wish I had that kind of cash laying around....

    Man I work two jobs to pay for these things, 12 hrs a day gets old , by the way did I say that I was building a sleeper

    Yeah I have all that stuff done plus a 2rude. Just waiting for the relief kit and then probally the ecu! I hope this kit comes out soon.

    As soon as I get my hands on the first batch of product it will be released for sale thru the store. Trust me it couldnt come soon enough.

    dnielsen,

    Talk to Dan (JD1) to discuss your build and tuning. I drove 12 hours one way to his shop, but it was well worth it. I do my own wrenching too on my RXPX, but I hit a limit at 82mph that I needed some help to overcome. It was hard work and cost me a ton to get there and lots of trial and error. Instead of re-inventing the wheel and wasting time/money trying different things and the risk of bucking and hurting myself I went to one of the best (JD1) for advise and help. Your build looks simular to mine and I'll tell you there is alot more then just bolting on parts that is required to make these X's go fast and stay safe. The tuning and right combination is the key. Having someone that already tried and proven things makes things much easier in the long run. You can spend more time riding instead of wrenching/tuning/ trying different combos to achieve your goal.

    Anyway, the parts and plan you have there will surely make you go 80+.
