MoTeC Wet Test Video
Here is a quick video we put together.
The beginning shows the submerging of our off the shelf M400 ECU
The ECU when new is dipped in a liquid plastic substance that protects it from water.
The on ski footage has 2 cameras and comes from our own camera solution.
It has a picture in picture feature that is showing the 2 camera’s , one mounted on the rear at the towing hook and one on the front.
The on screen gauges get information from the onboard MoTeC dash and show rpm on the left gauge, speed in kph on the right gauge with the center green bar graph display being throttle position.
Speed comes courtesy of the onboard GPS connected direct to the ECU and communicated back up to the Dash.
Also fitted to the Ski is a MoTeC SLM (Shift Light Module)
This device has 8 led lights that can be programmed to display 1 of 8 colors at almost any time for almost any reason, originally created as a shift light for racing cars it is in the case of the video being used to show knock levels on the 4 individual cylinders.
The settings for the video were adjusted to be over sensitive so that you could see how it works,

This is the first i've seen of the Motec being waterproof.....is that a 'potted' ECU? And if it is....if something goes wrong with the ECU....is it repairable or is the whole unit shot?
And that motor running 8500-8600 rpm......is that all on stock internals and valvetrain?

Damn that's bad ass. I would feel much better spinning the motor that high with a few valve train upgrades though.
