04 185 with p1202 code, HELP!
40 hours on the ski. Rebuilt the supercharger and noticed a tiny chip missing out of one of the ceramic washers (but all was still intact). Put it back together with s.s. washers, and ran it. It ran perfect for bout 10 min, and put it away. Next day, ran it again, but after 1 min the limiter and oil indicator kicked in. I then replaced both the sensors, and it does the same thing, runs for 1 min, then limits. I then rebuilt both the oil pumps (using sbt kits for the 1st time), and it does the same thing. Lastly, I removed the pressure relief valve, and it looks fine (has 2 springs, and they are the correct length). Thx!

I connected a oil press gauge below the filter housing and ran it again. The pressure stays high for 4-5 min (50-100 psi), then drops significantly as the oil heats (10-35 psi) and thats when the limiter kicks in. I then pulled the oil filter out (which was new) and noticed it's collapsed. Don't know if I mentioned, but it's running Castrol 10w-40.

Pull the presure reg from the underside of the rear cover and check the little top hat has not jammed or collapsed. I have seen this twice since 02 4-tec and the symptom was as you said.
Worth a look.

If you need more oil pressure and you know that there are no mechanical problems with the engine, then run either straight 30, 40 or 50 weight oil and your problems should cease... Ron

Installed new oil and filter, and now it seems to be doin something a little different. Will run great for 10 min, then p1202 comes up and the rpms wont go over 4k. Pull off the key and let sit for 1 min, and it will run great for 5 min, then p1202 again. Like I mentioned earlier, both oil sensors are new.

Tried a few other things, and ran it. Still runs great for 5 min then p1202, pull the lanyard and put back on and runs great for another 5 min.
