    Pennzoil synthentic in a 951cc?

It's killing me to be paying $45 or so a gal for SeaDoo syn oil for
my bored out 951cc 2 stroke.
I saw on another thread that Pennzoil is running good and its only
    $12.50 / gal at Wallmart.

I had problem with ash build up in the Rave valves which may have
contributed to a blown motor last summer from using el cheapo TWC
    2 cycle oil.

I'm running premix as I took off the oil injection system.

I've ran three full tanks of premixed pennzoil synthetic marine in my xpl, so far ok. What premixed ratio do you run?

Your burning more than necessary with premix over the variable injection system. Regardless, Amsoil interceptor is a good alternative and it's delivered to your front door. Save even more by joining up with preferred customer program and get all your lubrication products like pump oil, fogging oil, and WD-40 equivalent spray.

The oil specs for your seadoo is API-TC instead of the more common TC-W3. Why risk your engine with cheap oil?

Is that Pennzoil a synthetic API TC oil? As seadoodude said you need a API TC oil for that engine.

    I'm running 40:1

I kinda wish I had left the oil injection system on. It burns way more
oil using premix. I use a .5L spring water bottle per 5 gallons. That's
    16.9 oz per 640oz (5 gallons) or 40:1

It smokes a lot at idle where in the past it didn't do that.

The Amsoil product is probably the best alternative to SeaDoo.

40:1 is too rich. 32:1 is sufficient.

Note: More oil = less gas = lean

After seeing my crank bearings from a previous owner that ran Pennzoil, I will never use it. Amsoil is better than XPSII, IMO.

I'd use this, as it's cheaper than XPSII...and you aren't sacrificng the quality lubrication your engine needs.

You will use way more oil premixing, as it is a constant ratio all the time. Oil injection is 40:1 @ wot only.

And Amsoil is mixed at 50:1, you hardly get any smoke and more bang for your buck.

40:1 is less oil than 32:1. Its gasil. If you premix, seadoo stock ratio is 40:1.

That's intriguing, you would recommend 50:1 using Amsoil? My ski is used
maybe 20% idle/low speed, 40/50% quick acceleration and running WOT maybe 20%.

If you can get away with less and be safe than Amsoil is the clear winner.

What everyone fails to learn (and I had this same problem too) is that every oil manufacturer has their recommended ratio. You mix what they recommend, as this is what they have tested and concluded works with their oil. Amsoil recommends 50:1. XPSII is 40:1, and 32:1 is mosquito killing mix...
