The World's Air Traffic over a 24-Hour Period
Everything in yellow is an aircraft.
It is a 24-hour observation of all of the large aircraft flights in the
world, condensed down to about 2 minutes. From space we look like a
beehive of activity!
You could tell it was summertime in the north by the sun's footprint
over the planet. You could see that it didn't quite set in the
extreme north and it didn't quite rise in the extreme south. At the
beginning of the clip watch all of the traffic from the US heading
for Europe overnight and then all of the traffic coming back to the
US during the day.

Watch the flights in and out of Hawaii, The flights back to the mainland leave at night and the new tourists arrive during the day.

That's freakin' insane! How many of you remember the first time you saw an airplane in the sky after 911. It was like seeing a ufo.
