Yet another ride plate help thread (riva)

So i installed the riva ride plate, a list of my mods are this:
Riva ride plate (the new black one)
    Solas 13/19
    R&d grate
    D plate
    CatCon
    pump seal kit
    wave eater everything
(hydroturf mats/seats cus you know they make um faster!)

So i took it out for the first time since I added the plate and fixed the dplate and prop, this thing BLOWS in teh chop. I mean i couldnt stay at 45, between the chop and the new prop it would just pop up a tad then the prop would recover and pull it out of the water, and beat the living crap out of me. I rode my friends aquatrax (stock) and it zipped right through the chop.

I have read about the washers under the two rear bolts of the plate. Could be be because I am still running the stock trim tabs?

Also would stepping the sponsons actually help this?? I am trying to figure out how it would...

Would the R&D grate be causing any of this??

    Thanks!!
    Brandon

So give me the rough reason how it helps =) I am pretty techy, (when it comes to race cars) but water toys are 'new' to me =) Guess I should have also said I have an 02 gp1200r.

I guess it does somewhat like it does to hook it in the corners?

    Thanks!!

Ummm hard to say how big of waves, but I would say umm light to heavy chop from 1ft-5ft. 5ft i can see as an issue by itself, but the light chop was VERY light.. Tried the trim in everything from N to all the way up and down and it still porposed out of the water...

are you asking how stepping the sponsons work? When you bring the back part of the sponson down, it helps keep the nose down and helps reduce cavitation (air into pump, by the intake grate).

Stepping the sponsons will also help cure some of the GPR bucking at high speeds - especially when the boat becomes unbalanced due to an empty fuel tank for example.

Would stepping the sponsons be not adequate for wave jumping?
