    FWIW,
I would rebuild your carbs while you have them off. The carbs will kill a good engine quickly if they are even plugged up only a fraction. I always go through my carbs yearly to ensure they are 100% free and clear. They are very basic to do...and only require basic tools.

as mp says a carb clean /inspection is good.. on the sbn the carb can be broken down quite a number of times,re using the same gaskets.. it is good to have a spare kit hanging around if you tear one ( must be why i have extras ..lol).. the only gaskets you may need is a base gasket and a f/a seal gasket..these, you can punch out with thin gasket material and a good paper punch (perfect outside shape is not critical ,just inside diam. and bolt hole placement)

down load the mikuni book for the sbn..(do a search..i've posted the link it here , in old school in a few places ,besides it being included in a sticky at yamaha two stroke performance under carb rebuild headings too.)

Yep the dual 44's came out on the GP 760's but the raiders only had 38's or a single 44. I would also change your "Needle and Seat" in both to ensure no dribles and and good idle.

needle size is marked on the seat.. generally o/e is 1.5 but i would check it ..its 4 screws and a fifth smaller one ( get a hammer driver or it will not come out with out striping).. You can buy thru the 4 tec store or riva . I bought mine thru dennis kirk's online store..(it tells you whats on hand so no waiting and shipping was very quick .)
