    97 GSX Project

Well, IT LIVES! Once I got the old fuel out, plugs in, and, um, turned the gas on, it fires right up. Very responsive on the throttle. Now, to get my dual trailer conversion going on Saturday so I can get it to the water on Sunday. Will get some pics up this weekend.

Yeah... was an awesome feeling. I only bought it in February.

New piston, cylinder, rings on both pistons, oil block off. Carbs cleaned. I am going to go with new cone style flame arrestors and new jets. Will do that after I know it's happy under load. Compression test also this weekend when I find my tools.

Fuel lines were already upgraded by the previous owner.

Didn't get as far on the trailer as I was thinking. No water for the Sea Doo tomorrow...

Amen! I have a 97 too & it's like a little yz80 on the water. Small 2 ft wake, a blip of the throttle & your 6ft up!

Well, I got it to the river tonight, at 8:45, with a thunderstorm bearing down. I had just enough time to get it's butt in the water, fired it up, let it idle for a minute, then cranked it. WOW. It wanted to push my truck back up the ramp. That's about all the time I had, it started raining at that point. Here she is on the single place trailer. Double trailer is still pending.

Well, so far so good! 1st day out, the GSX ran like a champ. It's about even speed wise (maybe 2-3 mpg faster with a lighter rider) with my 760 Raider. This is my wife's ski. I need to up the ante on my Raider. Will get some GPS numbers on it next weekend.
