    I need help with 1200 xl

    I own a 2000 1200 xl limited,i bought it stock except it had the cat removed and bypass installed.this last week i installed a new impeller,intake grate,and oil injection block off.i had to remove the complete exhaust.i put it back together and now it wont start.when i hook the battery up it sparks and the lanyard is not on.the starter hums and the wires get hot when i try to crank it.any help please

    1) check fuses under front seat
    2) make sure battery is good and fully charged... The ski will not try to crank unless there is a a certain voltage.

    I ran into the same problem last year....

    IT TRIED

    Just put in a freash battery and it started without the lanyard.

    What do you mean it started with out the lanyard

    did you jump across the starter with a wire to remove the relay from the circuit?

    sounds like a safey switch gone bad

    Ok ok is everyone ready for this

    Ok the starter relay was stuck in the open position,i would hook the postive up to the battery and the ski would turn over,without the lanyard or gauges.replaced the relay and it was be fine,put the lanyard in and it would only bump.the impeller was hung on the wear ring,brand new impeller and it didnt fit.put the stock one back on and went to the lake.we had a blast.thanks everyone except atlantic jet for the wrong impeller........lol

    sounds like your wear ring needs to be replaced. There is corrosion between the liner and the housing and the liner will get high spots causing the impeller to grab on it.

    Buy a new wear ring and put your other not worn out prop back in!

    Talk to me

    I have replaced wear rings before,stuck it in the freezer ect.ect.....now that you two have mentioned it there was alot of corrosion on the pump.sorry atlantic jet you were caught in innocent crossfire.....thats guys
