    Yamalube to AMSOIL?

If I start with Yamalube and want to switch to AMSOIL later, would I need to drain the gas tank before switching to AMSOIL. BTW, I premix.

I would just run the ski low on gas and then the next tankful use the Amsoil. No need to drain it.

I take it no one has ever mixed 2 cycle oil and seen it drop out of suspension?

I never mix oils. I will use up what is in there and then drain out the lines, etc. before introducing the new pre-mix.

I just had to do this with the last 2 Blasters I just bought.

if you run the tank as low as possible, and fill it up to the top with the new premix, there will not be in issue. Now if this was a 50/50 mix, I would suggest a drain and run down. But taking it down low to the reserve or lower will not be an issue. Especially with Amsoil & Yamalube. As for Amsoil, I've never seen it drop out of suspension. I run Interceptor even in my lawn tools. that premix will sit up for 3 months during the winter and runs just fine in my 17 year old ECHO lawn tools every spring.

If this ski had oil injection, I would suggest draining the oil tank.

I agree, as low as possible.

I was just tossing out some other info for those who may not run the system down as low as possible.

    very good point!

Highly suggest taking it as low as possible. Also, if you have a siphon hose handy, siphon it out. Or disconnect the return line at the fuel sender, connect some 1/4 fuel line, hang it over the ski to a gas tank and pressure it all out with compressed air on the fuel inlet. use some 1/4 fuel line to a gas can to drain. This is for a more pice of mind if that makes one feel better you can hook up the hose to the reserve pickup also at the fuel sender and hang the hose over to the gas can. Pressure the gas tank slightly to get the flow going. 3-5psig
