current regi card and notorized bill of sale.

NJ is a no title state so if your buying out of state and you get a title just keep it with your stuff and take the regi card and notorized bill of sale over and your golden.

I have a pretty decent bill of sale that I have used in the past with absolutely zero issues....both for ski's and trailers.
Oh, trailers are handled the same way as ski's...regi and bill of sale.
    I'll attach it here.

What if you bought a ski that sat around for a few years and the previous owner has since misplaced the registration?

dunno man. I've had no problems registering a ski that hasn't been registered in years though... but I had the last/most current regi that was available with the ski....even though it was 8 years old.

I'd imagine that the current owner would have to go over to the dmv and make everything current first...but I don't know that for a fact.

ive found that as long as the vehicle is not stolen, you dont have to worry about a lost registration. if the old owner hasnt re registered, the state doesnt care when you buy it as long as the BoS checks out. worst case scenario, you go to trenton and itll get taken care of there. i bought a jeep with no title, got a new title for it and registered in my name for $40. 20 for the new title and 20 for registration. noe headaches believe it or not. skis and trailers are easier since there is no title
