    tq vs hp

anyone know how much torque our 4-tecs are pumping out? we see what the increase in horse power is doing, but what about out of the hole? how can we induce more get up and go? and I'm talking more than just stepping it up to that sexy 3rude =D but since we're dealing with water instead of rubber on pavement, are we limited in the torque department? I dunno bout you guys but I wanna hit the throttle and be literally thrown off. want a beast that needs to be tamed =D screw top speed! gimme dragster thrust

The biggest limiting factor is the inefficiency of the pump. They are less than 50% efficient. If the ski had a propeller instead of a pump you would see some crazy speeds... Ron

yeah I know there's a member on here whose been working hard on getting that design to work. 103mph rings a bell. so basically there's about nothing we can do without a massive amount of work in creating a larger pump?

X skis are making around 160lb.-ft. per the equation HP=(torque*RPM)/5252 (going with RR dyno of 243HP). The 215 models are making about 135lb.-ft. Here are some Riva dyno numbers (208HP stock).

those are some nice numbers for both skis very inpress. i think they mite be higher if the mods are done to the 215- an 255 coming out on the sheet you think

Since the jet pump keeps the engine within 500 rpm of peak power, torque is inconsequential.
