    pressure test and rave valves

well, i got my pressure test kit from watcom and my rave valves wont seal. at 7 psi they leak at the base gaskets. the gaskets are new just installed. they hold 6 psi perfect. at 7 they let go. i will thinking just a dab of orange RTV on each side? or what do you guys suggest? thanks.

I would use threebond 1211, sparingly, and make sure there are no large scratches on the surfaces.

i did a pressure test today and found that the diaphram will not hold the 10 pounds. i removed them and let the valve come up to seal and sealed the through hole with clay. it held pressure. are the diaphrams supposed to hold pressure? time for new ones?

also, i notice on the bottom of the diaphram is a spot it looks like a spring like on top or something would go. is there supposed to be anything there? by bottom i mean where it mounts to the housing.

Six lbs. is sufficient for a pressure test.

should it hold pressure indefinately or is there a tolerance for certain time period?

i will do the line crossover oil line for the rotary and delete the oil tank. should i pressure test between the 2 fittings or not necessary if the block holds pressure?

It should hold 6 PSI for 6 hours or so. It's not necessary to check the RV cavity, unless it leaks down. Spray the bellows with a liquid soap/water solution to confirm they aren't leaking too.
