    close course racing?

I need some advice. I have a gpr BB from GK. The best I have got with it is 73.3 when the air was 45 to 50 f and dry. Now 70,9 at 7210.
I have a 95/96 xp yellow 800cc, I run it one and awhile. (most of the time for new bees to ride before they learn on the 1400 or 1300.)It runs great! but very stock.
Ok heres the question: If I was going to mod one ski to run close course APBA races. what would you do?
I raced my 1390 this weekend and learned a lot about ridding a bull in a glass shop. (a bull that was PISSED! lol).
Most of the others are xp units. or gutted gprs,The Gpr made a great show in the stock 1200 class. but in the 1200 novice open It was a differnt storie. mostly the moron that was ridding it (ME> lol), I know I may be just be new at this. I did ok in the second race, But it seemed the XP"S where out cornnering me? I could smoke'm it the long stretch, but there where more corners than long shot's. LOL..
Most of all I DO NOT want to bang up my gpr. What do you,think.. It would be cheap to run the XP in the stock class RIGHT? What would I need?
I Know a impeller, a ride plate, sponces and a longer nozzle and a dropnozzle? Your thought?

    Well,

That ski isnt race legal for stock class or any class for that matter.

You would be much better off on the xp for closed course racing.

the big bore is not race legal. They probley let you run it in open cause if it was a regional race i am sure they will be happy with all the entrys they can get and nobody is really going to tech you anyway. Of course this is if it was an APBA sactioned race.

You will not out corner an XPL with a GPR. You just have to learn how to take the turns smooth. If they have a 800 class run your XP in that.

Are you racing beginer class? if so thats why they let you race whatever you have. A true stock GPR will not be compatitive in stock class. It just dont have what it take to be @ the first bouy.
