Question on keel guard?
Would putting one on cause the rpm's to drop some? Could there be enough drag to lower rpm's?

unless you like to go slow do not install a keel guard as it will cause speed/rpm loss.

Well the reason i ask is I did put one on and noticed an rpm drop. If that's the reason at least I know now. I put one on because I hang out an island and will sometimes just pull it up the sand. I was trying to avoid scratching up the hull.

Im thinkin about puttin on a keel guard as well as I beach my RXP a lot. Ive read in other posts that many people have not noticed any decrease in speed at all from using a keel guard, some even claiming better speed(hard to believe). I guess im just as curious as gsxr800 for some feedback from people that have used it as to how it has affected their speed/handling.

I have one on my 05 RXP and didn't lost any speed, i do feel a tiny difference in handling. I have heard some stories about cavitation when you put it to close to the intake grate do.
