    engine removal help

xll1200. Do you guys remove the front plastic piece (w reverse handle and choke / gas on/off) to remove the engine?? I am trying to get it out with carbs still on.

Also do you use a lift/cherry picker?

    cherry picker is highly recommended...

sorry I cannot comment on the xlt setup if its necessary to remove the other pieces. But once you get a cherry picker its generally ez mode for all skis.

Remove the exhaust and just pull it out...it's not that heavy and if you have help, you can hand it off to someone standing next to you. You can also get the picker...although once the exhaust is off, it's not to heavy.

it is not that it is too heavy, it is that I dont think there is enough room in the hull to get the engine out and 2 arms out. I will have some rocking to do to get it out with a cherry picker.

    Anyone know any tricks?

huh? I mean that the opening in the hull is not big enough for the engine and my 2 arms to come out of the opening at the same time. Not that my garage is too small for 2 people and skis.

With the exhaust out and stuff you should be able to pick it up long ways and get it out of there. I have done it before no problem and I am not a big guy. You would be suprised how easy it is.
