R&D Steering Nozzle and Anti-Cavitation Cone

Just installed the steering nozzle and the anti-cavitation cone.........cone needed to be sanded a little because of my performance OCD.......the steering nozzle is a nicely finished piece the way it is...

The cone definitely works.....it has helped nicely, taming down the cavitation on holeshot.....but nothing is perfect.......it also affected mid-range acceleration by decreasing it and dropped my rpms by about 150-200...... It would be a nice way to drop rpm's in the winter.........let me just say im glad my pump tunnel is reinforced...

The steering nozzle is round and larger diameter (which would increase acceleration and RPM's)......which would seem to have a balancing effect when used with the cone....i'm hoping anyway

I'll be testing within the next 2 days so ill keep u guys posted....here r the pics.....

150-200 rpm loss I didn't lose anywhere near that. How did you test...digital tach? back to back? You may gain a little rpm with a round nozzle since it seems the 87mm width of the oval OEM may be choking it a bit, but typically they have very little effect on speed & acceleration...this is done by changing the size of the exit nozzle, not the steering nozzle.

the loss was from the cone....not the steering nozzle.....and i know some1 who has a PET tach but they won't let me borrow it..

so yes....the rpm loss is a guesstimation....best i can do reading off of the stock Yammi pos tach...

    Rip,
I'm glad the pump cone works on the SHO because they are useless on a 250X. All us Kawi guys use them as $90.00 paper weights.

Rip isn't the first one that had good results with the anti-cavitation cone on a SHO. Looks to be a legit mod that can give you some RPMs if you are in need. I may order one up. Thanks for the feedback Rip.
