    porposing

I recently purchased a 1998 GP 760 waverunner with 102 hours. It has an after market bottom plate and air intake. It runs great, but the problem I have is at 20-=25 mph it starts jumping out of the water and wont plane off no matter how I trim it. It will run 55 on smooth water but as soon as I hit any waves it starts again. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum. What ride plate do you have? Installing trim tabs will cure your problem. Try adding some washers at the rear of the rideplate. I sold OBXJeepguy a shredmaster ride plate and he installed trim tabs and his porpoising is gone.

I found a rag wraped around the properal housing. Do you think that could cause it?

It would cause it to cavitate and not get up to speed.
