    Boring an exit nozzle

I know I have heard people talking on here about boring the nozzle, but have you bored the exit of the pump? or the steering cone? or both? and by how much can you bore to get a noticeable difference in performance?

You bore the venturi, or exit nozzle. Not the steering nozzle to be clear.

Stock is 84mm, most that should be bored is 3 to make 87mm.

It will add a nice boost at take off, but max speed is better made from a smaller nozzle.

87mm = more volume with less psi. Great for acceleration. Also acts like a smaller impeller is installed. Less load on engine, so RPM will come up.

84 mm = higher pressure for more top speed. Places a greater stress on the engine trying to cram all that water through the smaller opening, so it will lower RPM.

That's why the Skat Trak nozzle with replaceable rings is great. It allows you to tune your engine exactly the way you want.

Can you still get skat tracks? Where at?

Nice, thanks for the info. I may just wait to mess with it until next season. The problem is, I am waiting around and kicking the dirt waiting for the doggone top end kit to arrive. So, Im finding anything that I can do with this boat sitting in my garage!!

    Nice link RX 951.

Nasty, 785 Lugs was selling one just last week for a great price. It didn't last too long before it was bought. Kinda rare and expensive.

Aw man, that sucks, oh well. It'd be a cool gadget to have.
