you should have 2 lines right? One goes to the carb inlet. and the other to the return side. are the hoses the same size and lenght?

you should be able to turn the gas valve OFF and you should NOT be able to blow or suction any gas out of the main fuel line to carb. the other line will always stay vented to the tank. the one you can blow or pull a suction on with the gas valve off is the return line. (it goes on the top of the carb towards the front of the ski) the main inlet line goes onto the bottom FRONT section of the carb. under the throttle linkage.

    hope that helps!

There are many fuel lines, it would be more helpful if you could specify which one? How bout a pic of the one in question?

many????? you have some water lines to exhaust and engine block? and lines to the rave valves..... you fuel lines should come from the tank and two of them go to the fuel selctor valve and only ONE comes forward to the fuel filter then to the motor. you have another line that goes to the VENT on the left side of the motor (if you are sitting on seat) and the LAST line is the return line that goes to the carbs.

I can try and post a picture......

Really? You think so? Then in your ignorance, guess how many places it could be disconnected and the dude not know where it reconnects?

I'm glad you are SO in the know of fuel line routing...

well, 4 spots on the tank insert, 3 on the fuel valve, 2 on the gas filter, 1 on the hull, and 2 on the carbs.... did I miss any?

maybe he did totally disconnct every line and fitting, then he is in for some fun.

motor was pulled from boat and carbs shipped out to be rebuilt

ok... pulled fuel selector off( as in now lives in the trash), blocked main fuel pickup out of tank. ran reserve line into fuel strainer.

Placed fuel line on the largest diameter port on the carb. The port was facing down

The right angle port has the pulse line . and the return line was a smaller diameter and the only one left.
    Boat runs 65 yesterday.

I pulled all of the lines off the tank trying to figure out what one was the reserve any one have a way of telling?
What one is the fuel vent?

Is the a diagram in the book of the fuel pick up?

Look on the side of the pickup, below the barbs, all are labeled. Just had mine apart yesterday. There is RES, ON, VENT, and RET. Look though from the engine compartment with the cover off, and you'll see two. Get a mirror to confirm the other two.

    XP fuel system

f.y.i....as mentioned above, all the OEM fuel lines are labeled. The fuel sender nipples will also have notations for each as well.

Be sure the (2) Hull Vent Check Valves are in the right places (they are not the same) and are both in the correct direction.

One vents out @ 1.5psi (on side / below rub rail)
The other Vents in to equalize vacuum in tank when the fuel level drops.
