Factory Kawasaki standup engine sound
This may sound a dumb question, but I always wanted to know this.
The factory racing Kawasaki standups always have had that distinctive sound somewhat like a sport gp motorcycle. I've heard this sound (live) in both sxi pro's and sxr's.
What can give this so distinctive sound?? Maybe a combination of waterbox+dry pipe? Do you guys have any knowlege/specs on this?

There is a decent amount of combinations that contribute to the sound a ski makes.
Here's a list.
type of pipe being used which would be a dry pipe in kawi's case
amount of water being injected at that rpm
porting as in shape and height
More compression will make it louder and give a more popping sound.
Add some porting and this will help with the pop as well.
There is alot of things that make kawi's destint sound and Im sure the porting is one fator which you can not get. The timing will help some which you also cant get and the water and pipe mods as well.
Now you can get it close but it depends on how much you want to spend and how well you are at tunning.
Anyway hope this helps.
