    JetMate & JetStream

Jetmate shuttle rescue craft and JetStream PWC fire fighting monitor from my old business and cross Canada tour, back in August 2000.
Anybody remember this? Good products, but never took off. (Executive problems).
Toronto all day live city news demo. English Bay vancouver Fireworks demo.
    Seattle Fire Convention demo.

    Yup,
remembered them just from your descriptions.

They would work even better with todays larger tug boats.

My old partner in that enterprize might have a monitor still. I should get it, and stick it on my HO. I remember taking one in a hockey bag to Hawaii to demo for the Honolulu Fire Dept. at Ala Moauna park. They had 10 trucks along the shore with all the officers and crews to watch. After I did my demo, I gave their guys a quick operating lesson which turned into a disaster, but hilarious. 2 big boys on their Kawasaki STX1100, out of control, too close to the gravel beach, wide open throttle, and spraying the officers, crews, and fire trucks with rocks. www.jetmate.com
I'll see if I can bring one to next MudBug.

    Jetmate Not Quite Dead Yet

Ran into Paul Staunning with his family, near our swamp trails yesterday. Says he still has a monitor or two in his garage, but hasn't built anything in about 3 years. Should've taken the $2mil. I got for him back in 2000, from the Chinese.

They built 2 fireboats for us and shipped them to Beirut Lebenon ... wish they were still making them! It's sad that they stopped

The inventor (above Paul S.), and his dad had a some great ideas, but little business sense. So, that's why they made me sales manager for life, all over the world, with commission claims on all products. I demonstrated the boat and monitor from coast to coast at my own expense with orders being considered and budgeted at various fire departments.
Kawasaki and Polaris comp'd us new skis. We used these for sales demos and personal pleasure. When Polaris pulled theirs back, the inventor took my Kawi demonstrator, and left me with nothing to use for sales. Plus I sold my Yamaha because I no longer needed it. So, I had nothing. I was pissed.
The inventor (janitor in a high school) refused to take $2,000,000 USD cash I sold the business for to the Chinese because he and his dad didn't trust them. WTF?!?!? IT WAS CASH!!!!
It all went down the shitter shortly thereafter. Broke my contract, refused to demo and attend fire shows, etc.
Anyway, he gave it all to the Australians for near nothing in recent years. A sad but common inventor story no?
