    Stupid, Stupid ,Stupid

Ok just got a 00 polaris genesis 1200 fuel injected, dropped it in and forgot the plugs. Filled up with water over night, drained it and it started. It idled fine for about 10 mins so i took off and it went great for about ahalf mile. then it bogged down but stayed running, no power like its in limp mode. wont rev up but idles well. i put in new plugs, dry gas but no difference. any ideas?

    Welcome to the Hulk

Click here for the Polaris Service manuals.

The fuel pump on the Fuel Injected Polaris models has an integral water rejection filter inside the fuel tank. The pleated filter is the bottom part of the fuel pump assembly.

If you have water in the fuel tank, the filter will prevent the water from getting drawn into the fuel pump intake. But if there is a lot of water, there is no fuel down where the pump intake is (water sinks down below the fuel in the tank), so the fuel pump cannot deliver much fuel to the engine.

Just how 'sunk' did this machine get?
How far up inside the hull was the water?

If there is water in the tank, you will need to drain the tank, dry it out, and blow out the fuel lines.

Sea Foam works well if there might be a *little* water in the tank.

If there really is enough water in the tank to be lifting the gasoline above the pump intake water repellent filter at the bottom of the tank (which is about an inch high), then no fuel additive will fix the problem. The water has to come out.

And so does the gasoline, if it has any ethanol in it.

Dumbass ,There are those who have done it and there are those who are going to do it .Trick is not to be too hard on yourself .Set yourself a routine and stick to it .
