anyone running these mods GTX SC 185?

    2003 GTX SC
    100hrs
    aluminum pump with 12/20 SOLAS
2005 SC with Akit wheel, same as greenwheel. upgraded washers/bearings
    greenhulk waterbox
    160* tstat mod
    RD air intake

    2* pump wedge
    opas blockoffs
    rideplate holes filled

i'm getting 7450-7500 rpm and 65 mph average GPS. 75 degree air 65 degree water, i hope as the summer gets hotter i dont see any heat fade.

i'm not sure if this performance is good for my setup or not. i am sure others have done this , just want to compare.
PS i know my RD air intake needs to be upgraded, i am in the process of adding 4" with spectre, just havent done it yet...

basically is 65 mph with a greenwheel in a GTX SC reasonable?? or am i lookin for 67-68???

Hi..I have a 03 GTX with 155 hrs. My mods are: 12/20 solars, 05 RXP ECU, 2 degree wedge, power intake, rebuilt stock SC, and grate. In fact, rode it today becasue my RXP is in the shop for warranty work and my other has a broken engine. GPS hit 66 mph, wind to my back, flat water, and a can of beer in me. Had a great day riding...and the GTX did not break.

Put that 4" in, then see what your rpm's are...you should be at 7600, with a limit of 7650...pitch accordingly after the install. Don't forget to remove any and all OEM ventilation items, and install a blower setup to pull hot air from the engine compartment...

See my signiture for a similiar 05 GTX 185. Your rpms are 150-200 too low, 4" air and possible repitch and you'll be set. I am on the limiter at about 75% throttle and need to send prop to Erik at SpeedFreeks myself for setback mod and repitch. See jpeconsults thread for 185 mods and history.

ya, we got similar except i am runnin an upgraded SC wheel(Akit), that should be gettin me better than 65 shouldnt it????
my 12/20 isnt stock either, it was bent for a more aggressive setup than what i am runnin. not sure on exact specs at the moment, but if i'm gettin solid 7500 rpms all summer i might just leave it alone.
i'm wonderin with a greenwheel or similar in a GTX SC if 65 is a fair speed or if i really should be lookin for boost leaks etc, and aiming for 67-68...

    IMO, I don't think you'll get much better than 65 mph .
You will have to go with alot more boost and rpms to
get to 67-68. Just my 2 cents

LEXTOY--I am running a 2006 GTX 185 HP with your mods plus some. One of the big items I found to really wake this boat up is the Riva rear air kit for a RXP. Many told me it could not be done. Well it can. Also you need to install a RXP/RXT FPR. Running a 13/20R prop. My signature tells the rest of the story. I can smoke any stock PWC--and still no intercooler. Good luck.

Foggy--You are correct about the boost.
