BAD vibration and loss of RPM!!!

Hey guys, Ive been searching all night with no avail!...Today at the lake I had sucked up a rock into the pump due to muddy water and shallow beach. Once I found out I had a rock in there I limped it back to the trailer, pulled outa the water and pulled the pump out to clean it. got everything cleaned out and back together about 30 min later. Once it was back in the water I took it for a spin and it seemed to run fine with a slight cavitation at hole shot but not that noticeable. I then anchored in deeper water for a little and when I went back to ride again, I noticed that I had a HARD vibration thought out the RPM range IDLE-6500. Again pulled outa the water and checked the pump and found nothing! When I got home, pulled the charger again and found that it looked fine. Washers/Bearings were all good. I am stuck at what this problem could be! Any help would be greatly appriciated! BTW this is a 2005 RXT. Thanks

Pull the pump and make sure nothing is wedged between the impeller and wear ring. A small pebble if wedged right will cause this. It is difficult to just look in there and see if there is a problem. May have to replace the wear ring.

the pump was pulled off in the parking lot and there is nothing in there...very very small groves in WR...shut it off before it could tear it up.

Is there any water in the hull? I am thinking the carbon seal might be going bad..Check if the impeller spins freely. The bearings could be on their way out. I'm sure you'll get more ideas to check Good luck.

So you pulled the pump twice? How freely did the prop turn in the wear ring. If it is binding with the wear ring the ring will spin and cause the vibration.

But will this make my RPMS only go up to 6500? Thats what has me puzzled. And when i say BAD vibration i mean REALLY bad. I also forgot to mention that when i first start up the idle RPM is usually around 1800 but now as down around 1500 if that means or helps.

Check the impeller/driveshaft splines. See if you can find someone that you can swap the pump out with if this solves the problem then it is the wear ring/impeller. If not then possibly a bent drive shaft. Yes this will drop the rpms.

Are you getting any error codes at all? Does it sound like all 3 cylinders are firing?
