Remove or keep top plastic engine cover?
I was told by my mechanic to remove the top plastic engine cover because all it does is retain heat and make it harder to clean under it.
However I see alot of your pictures still keeping them in place.
Any feedback or info on this simple subject welcome.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Some do,some dont..I dont see it being a big deal seeing how it sits over your intake manifold..But some will argue it makes a world of differance..Take it out and try it..Run it with the cover on,then run it with the cover off..Ill bet you will see no differance.. If your worried about the heat factor there are othe things that can be done that will be more benificail than just that cover..Dont get me wrong.Getting as much heat out of the engine compartment as possible is the thing to do ..But to just take off that cover..Aint gonna do much without other mods to help it..

Not speaking from experience or anything but that cover makes a pretty good paddle if you were to need one for some reason.

was the mechanic from the dealership? if so, those guys will say some stupid stuff sometimes to try and sound like they know what they are talking about. don't get me wrong, i don't know everything, but i have heard some major BS from dealer mechs. Ask some columbus riders about the shit we deal with from dealers in our area.
if it is someone you know personally i don't mean any offense at all. IMO, the cover is not blocking any more heat in than the intake sitting directly below it.
