    91 Superjet build questions

    Hey Guys,

    Well i just picked up a 91 super jet 650. Runs great right now, it has a Coffman sizzler exhaust system and a K&N flame arrestor. It has good power but i think it is time for the 701 kit.

    I have done some research on the topic and it seems that my case is the 61x, correct? I plan on maybe going over .5 on the standard 701, what is everyone's thoughts on this.

    Other topics seem to say how the factory mod pipe is the way to go, if so i would go this direction. Next is fuel system, with the 701 are you guys seeing good results with the stock 650 carb or are you upgrading to a larger carb and how big? Also settings would be appreciated for the tuning process. Anyone have a good reccomendation for a head to run 91, Riva, Protec? Also what ehauxt manifold do i need, I am guessing i would need the 701 to move as much exhaust gas possible. I am going to keep the stock waterbox for cooling purposes.

    I see a lot of MSD iginitions for these skis, what are your reccomendations here for iginiton systems.

    Last but not least what are you using for impeller, intake grate and ride plate combinations.

    Wellcome to stand-ups!!

    Couple answers hopefully can help you.. X-H20 will provide you with exact specs for tuning the carbs and such. I'll just throw in my 2 cents about my mods and such..

    The 701 engine is 100% better on performance. I bet you can get stock 44 (i think 44's) for cheap on the X. You can stick with your stock carbs and make slight adjustments as you go along.. But the MAIN upgrades for your boat should be a factory b pipe, ADA head (35 domes), and a msd enchancer.. Follow that with a upgraded prop and you will be EXTREMELYYY pleased with your results. If you cant afford the ada head then there is a guy who is selling liek a protec and r & d head with 30 cc domes for a decent deal. MSD enchancers can be found on amazon for a HUGE discount (Dont pay over 195$)

    Couple these mods with a umi steering kit and a good turf job and enjoy!!!
