    External IC WITH Resonator?????

    I am running an external IC....previous owner installed it - and when he did, he removed the resonator that usually sits in the back/right side of the ski.
    So the ski is REALLY loud in the 8-15mph range...annoyingly so. Is anyone running the external IC WITH the resonator still installed?? Is there enough room back there????

    thats why everyone goes to rear exit thru hull exhaust, because of the annoying resonance, around 3,000 rpms with the resonator by-passsed

    you can do it with stock parts very easily. have you ever looked at a RXP-X? looks like it will work with about any IC except for the original Rotax Racing.

    it's not as easy as it may look. the X cooler has a unique shape/dimensions compared to others.

    ah wah??? Explain that if you don't mind. Why would going to a straight rear exit thru hull fix that problem?? Wouldn't it basically be the same??? Exit straight out the back...or exit straight into the pump tunnel??

    if you use the X bracket, cooler, and hoses it as easy as any other IC install.

    I see. I thought you meant adapting another intercooler to fit the X plumbing.

    The resonator is designed to defeat the harmonics of the exhaust exiting into the enclosed pump tunnel. rear hull exit means it will not resonate. You're basically hearing an annoying echo.

    I know PPG makes a resonated power pipe made of metal, that exits in the same stock location . It's supposed to reduce some of that annoying noise. I used to have their non resonated version, and it sounded better than just the bypass piece did. I never heard their resonated version in person tho. I do like the rotax racing and riva rear exit exhaust sounds. They sound awesome IMO.
