Broken Valve Springs
Has anyone ever seen a broken valve spring on a SeaDoo 4Tec engine? I have never seen one here that I can remember, but wanted to poll the group.
Just wondering if it is worth the full valve train upgrade, versus just the retainers and keepers.

Springs don't last forever, and it's not because they break. As they cycle they loose spring pressure, comp cams claims that certain harmonics such as over-reving causing valve float leads to earlier rpm float down the road. I know for a fact springs loose seat and open pressure as they are run over time, float or not.

I put about 100 hrs. on my 05 RXP before I went with a Riva valve train kit. Never had problems with the stock springs.

At 100hrs, u wont have issues. I got 1 I put together for JPSKI and he has over 400hrs now on the stock springs, and runs 73mph on a t w/ only a greenwheel and XS with a 14/19. Does not use a drop of oil and is run at least every-other day. I have over 200hrs on the riva valvetrain and no issues. Stock 04-05 valves on the other hand

Yep, know about the valves. I have already purchased Ferrea valves. Just trying what more to be concerned about on the head.
