Wind screen question.
I was looking at painting my wind sreen on my 2000 gpr but when I tryed to remove it I found it was held on by plastic "nuts." How do you remove these with out breaking them?
I know this sounds like a stupid question but I would like to keep it looking good.

I've never been able to remove them without breaking them. If I'm replacing the visor with a new one or a pretty painted one then I'd just buy new hardware. It's cheap. Or If I'm doing a DIY paintjob I just tape off the lower part of the hood and paint it, hardware and all.

One side should be an allen head, use an allen key and the back side should be a "rubber nut" as your calling it, grip it with a pair of vise grips. There is a threaded metal insert surrounded by the rubber.
