tested my ragged shoe and cut grate
ok guy's and gal's i started a new thread so as not to hi-jack jarrett, and im going to keep to the point..lol......previously my best speed was 67.7 at 7120..i went out this morning 85 deg air 518 ft altitude and could only get 6970 rpm but my speed was....69.0 gps.....only thing i did was to cut back the outside scoop tips on my 1200 grate and pull of the nasty 5200 flash yamaha left in my scoop....ski felt livelier and lighter, i did a high speed(for me) shut-off to see if ski was going to go crazy and turn left like it does on stock grate , ski is perfect now...i even went to the bouy course and ran some slolom...felt real good...i just need/want 2 mph....i re adjusted my efi to 126.96.36.199. sounds rich but was picking up rpm from 188.8.131.52.......and i got a kill...lol.....a..sea do....a kill is a kill....new gtx.

you must be happy, I'm happy for you! any + is always good! your speed right now is where I was with your mods. I know there are those here that go 70+ with minor mods, but your ski sounds right on target compared to mine last season.
PS post a pic of your grate mod, I would like to see what was done to the 1200 grate to get another MPH out of it.

Hey any improvment is good. You want 2 more miles per hour free? Remove that shoe all the way and seal it right. Bingo 71 mph.

hmmmmm...i like bingo...........im going to do just that..glad i bought a spare tube of 5200 quick dry.......the reg takeds 8 days to cure...something else that i did was put my efi on 184.108.40.206. sounds too rich but it ran great and the plugs are a light tan and dry.

Getting to 75 or 77 nowadays is a proven, easy formula. Getting to 80 takes the little things like you're doing - dozens of little bitty projects like profiling, sanding, smoothing, measuring, etc. is how we make the big numbers. Keep it up!
