Smile limp mode fix update and MPG question...780 slx

well ,i took my fuel sending unit apart and checked the float in some gas, it didnt seem "logged" as it floated...hmmm
so i took a length of fuel line and stuck it in there under the float and now i have a "full" tank of gas! haha... im guessing this should fix my limp mode problem, but i havent started it yet as i had a bunch of crap in my gas tank and had to give it a good rinsing....any comments on my technique??
i also got the oil light off by adding some oil....duh...

my new question is what kind of MPG should i expect with just normal riding? also how much oil is consumed with the average gallon of gas?
i know this varies quite abit according to the type of riding but....

it seems at $3.00+ per gallon of gas/oil , that this can b pretty expensive to play around on.....i still think ill keep it though! thx ....zimmy

Arrow Approximate oil consumption rates for oil injected engines

If you are running with the stock oil pump system, it is a variable flow rate pump. At low-mid range RPM, it delivers less oil per gallon of fuel than at high throttle levels.

At idle and slow speeds, the oil mixture is around 100:1. At wide open throttle, about 40:1 fuel: oil ratio.

I would estimate that you will burn roughly 60 times as much fuel as oil. So for every 60 gallons of fuel, one gallon of oil.

The 60 gallons of fuel will cost you a lot more than the one gallon of oil

If you like PWC riding, and want to cut your fuel costs down some, look for a two cylinder domestic engined Polaris. The Polaris twin engines are known for economical fuel consumption, both the carb'ed and fuel injected models, with similar power to your 780 Fuji.

You can sell your running 780, and upgrade to the domestic powered model.

Take the time to read through the maintenance sections of the Polaris Service Manual, and click through the PWC Resources links.

Also search and read up on what others have learned on GreenHulk about their own Fuji engined machines. You will find a lot of useful information.

Take the time to go over your machine from end to end. Do not assume anything is correct until you have checked it yourself.

Lubricate everything that moves, and check every fastener, bolt, nut, hose clamp and fitting.

Also learn about water safety, marine rules, and proper watercraft operation. These things are a lot of fun, but you can also get yourself into trouble in a big hurry if you don't know what you are doing out there.

Have a look through the High Performance Watercraft Safety forum
