oil usage per gallon of gas
1999 XL1200 LTD.
My oil tank holds about 1.5 gallon of oil. How many gallons of fuel would you think I would use before having to refill the oil tank?
Thanks in advance.

I'm new to pwc but being a dirt biker etc for years its really kinda easy.
Like Keyzbum said at 40:1 you would use 60 gallons. If your running 50:1 gas/oil then its just 50 gallons of gas to every one gallon of oil or in this case 75 gallons to your 1.5 gallons of oil. Dunno for Skis whats reccomended but I have ran everything from 40:1 to 70:1 depending.....

Not to jack the thread but this brings up another question for me also... Being that with PWC's are like boats, your under a constant load situation, is there a difference in the mix vs a dirtbike 2 stroke? Also do you need beefier crank bearings, rods, or anything else? Just curious.
