    2008 rxp idle

Hi everyone, I recently bought a 2008 rxp with the 215 supercharged motor. Had it out the other day for the first time and noticed the rpm at idle was 1800 even after the machine had been running for an hour. Wondering what the rpm should be at idle and how difficult it is to adjust. Any info would be appreciated.

    dave

thats an odd explanation LOL. I would think that would be the exact opposite of what its doing.

Mine is like 1750 -1800 usually but doesnt matter if the engine is hot or cold.
I just hate how hondas and yamahas can come into the dock nicely yet i come in so fast at 1800 rpm, i usually have to use the R level to get it to slow down.

Side note, mine jet feels a little bumpy at idle, like a little rough. Feels like its coming from the tow hook area, line near the end of the boat. New wear ring due? Its fine once u get past 2500rpm or so.

Seems to balance out. It feels like a rough I4 without a counter balancer LOL

well I was wondering why the idle is high, I had a polaris (9 years ago now) and if I remember right the rpm at idle was quite a bit lower. Like the above post said, it made docking a whole lot easier, it will just take some getting used to on this new machine. Had the rxp out yesterday on the St.Lawerence river...works great, thanks again for the info

To slow it down while docking pull the reverse lever up about half way. You usually have to hold in that position, so don't let go of it.
