    Check or replace the battery.

If the battery is proven to be good (over 10.5 volts while cranking), then remove, clean, and check the connections at both ends of both battery cables. Also remove and clean the other heavy cable on the start relay (solenoid).

    Wink no fire

All of that is good, turns over well with the spark plugs out. The little black box inside of the big black looks like it might have got hot. The manual is not very helpful.

    Welcome to the Hulk.

If it won't turn over well with the plugs in, try a new battery. It sounds like it doesn't have enough power to compensate for the compression.
