    cylinder and piston/rings

    How do you put the piston cylinder over the piston and piston rings.

    compress the rings by hand, make sure they are in the anti-rotation pins correctly, and slide the cyl over the piston gently. If it wont go on, youre doing something wrong!! Start over again and repeat procedure.

    did you oil the cylinder lightly? and the piston?

    and you didnt put the cylinder heads on first, correct?

    another thing to check, are the arrows on the top of the piston pointing towards the gas tank?

    thats what i cant get is to hold the rings in place and put the cylinder on... thought maybe there would me an easier way to do it

    You can get a ring compressor, but I couldnt find one locally that was the right size. Honestly, it should be cakewalk to hold the rings by hand, and then slide the piston into place.

    Some people use wide zip ties as a ring compressor. I think Lowes carries them.
