Ferrea Valve Question
Is is common to see some pitting on the back side of the valves when the valves are new? None on the compression side, only on the port side. None on the stem.
I am seeing quite a bit on the larger intake valves? Not nearly as much on the exhaust.

Yes, pics would help a great deal. "Pitting" would be an odd thing to encounter, whereas "deposits" are common place, especially with low grade gas and/or rich conditions. But even so, deposits usually form over an extended period of time. How many hours on your valves? I would think not many as these valves have not been readily available for very long.

Here you go! Just purchased them from a member here. Advertised hours are 10 hours. As I stated earlier, the compression sides are clean as are the stems.

Slight salt water damage? Then taken to a wire wheel to clean up?

TTT - Would still like some opinion here before I call Ferrea tomorrow.

Looks like corrosion pitting, they do not look like that new.
However if properly seated I doubt there is any loss in performance.
