    No spark - 2000 Virage

The battery while cranking shows 11.5 volts. The bilge pump works. The voltmeter shows that the ignition coil is getting juice but there is not spark at the plugs. Can I assume that I need an new coil or is it not that simple?

    Thanks for any advice.

Have you tested the ignition coil primary and secondary with an ohm-meter?

We tried to. It would read 0 unless we wriggled the electrodes which would then give an erratic reading. So, I'm not sure that we were doing it right. Or maybe it means the coil is bad. I think ignition coils are fairly cheap so I wonder if we should just replace it. But I also read that the coil is not as likely to fail as the stator or cdi.

If there is voltage at the coil it does can we assume that the stator and cdi are OK? Or could they still be suspect ?

I have the info on how to test the stator but haven't had a chance to test it yet.

    Thanks
