    pics of my xpl project

i just went to get it this past Saturday. i am the 3rd owner and it needs a little tlc. it has some sunfading and needs a new seat cover but nothing i can't handle. i also have to rebuild the motor due to what the owner before me thinks is a rod knock. but like i was told it could just be piston slap. it does have 145/145 compression. let me know what you all think.

That seat looks awful man! Did they leave it sit uncovered for years?

I got the stock seat off my '99 XPL if you want it. It is in Loudon Tennessee. The cover is intact, at least it was the last time I looked at it.

Shipping is a monster on those seats but if you or a buddy is going to be in East Tennessee, let me know. I will see if my Pops (it is at his house) can get some pics of it. If you got thirty bucks laying around, it is yours.

You would be surprised what wax will do on that bottom hull. Worse comes to worse, wet sand and buff.

What kind of knock sound does it have? I would be surprised if one had a bad bearing to the point of knocking and still have good, even compression.

That seat is toast! There's no way a cover will fit & feel right. You might want to take KrunchovXPL-GTX-RX's offer for a complete seat. You'll need to replace it one way or another. Wet sanding is a must if that's oxidation we see. If it's just scum, then it should clean up with a buffer & compound. Good luck, it'll be a great ski when you're done!

KrunchovXPL-GTX-RX pm sent. i don't know how long it sat outside but as you can see it was a wile. i'm thinking about letting my friend repaint the hull black for me. i will be pulling the motor soon so i can get it fixed. i'm just ready to get it on the lake.
