How do you install a fuel water separator??

I am concerned about water in our 10% ethanol gas and want to install a Racor 110a fuel filter which is also a water separator.

I searched this forum and couldn't find any posts about this.

Any recommendations on installing this filter somewhere in the fuel line?

interesting question and i have no idea of the answer.

however what i can do is move your thread into the performance section as you will get an answer in there much quicker.

if the thread turns into a good source of info we can move it back to the how to section later on for future reference use.

I wouldn't worry about the moisture in the ethanol. I know some that are running E85 with no worries, just run it and have fun.

Does your ski stay docked at a marina and has only had marina gas since new?
If you primarily trailer your ski and get gas mostly from a local station I wouldn't sweat it.
If your ski only gets marina gas and sits at the dock all year then.....maybe...

I guess the old saying..Ride more, worry less applies here.

Not sure about VA but up here in NJ we've had ethanol in our gas for years... It was only the gas at the local marina's that had the recent changover and it seems to affect boats that only have received marina gas for years and all the moisture present in the tanks.

The good thing about ethanol is that it emulsifies any water that could be in the tank, which allows it to mix with the gas and be harmlessly burned. The bad thing about it is that it does attract water, and can reach a point where it can no longer emulsify all of the water in the tank, and it starts to separate out. Its when the water separates that it causes lean conditions that will damage the motor. If the water in the gas is emulsified, the water separator won't collect it. It will only collect water that's separated from the fuel. Hope this made sense.
