    Ignition Update and cdi

I have a 1999 Polaris STLH 2 cylinder that has a bad cdi. I have heard about an ignition upgrade that is available. Where is the best place to buy this and does the upgrade come with a new cdi. Any part numbers would be a great help and thanks.

How difficult is it to instal the ignition update and how long of a job is it? Thanks for the input.

Depends on your wrenching skills, and available tools.

The two cylinder engine in a three seat SLTH hull has lots of working room in front of the engine. That is where the flywheel needs to be removed, and removing the flywheel is by far the hardest part of the job.

Once the flywheel is off, the rest is fairly easy.

Do a search for flywheel removal, there have been several good threads discussing how to do it, and what tools are needed.

When I get the ignition update kit will it hurt anything if I put the new cdi in and run it for a day before putting in the new stator.

I do not know if the Ignition Update CDI is compatible with the 1999 magneto stator.

I do know that you want to install the matching ignition coil at the same time you install the update CDI.

Why not just put all the pieces on the engine at the same time, and be done with it?

What are the symptoms of needing the ignition updates?
