    ordered my heads

i figure you all will frown on me for this since the stock head is better but i ordered riva heads. I wanted to go the stock route and get them machined but i wasnt very knowledgable and didnt feel like waiting. So i have a few ?. is it a direct bolt on mod? do i take the stock off then put the new on and torque them to the specs? what increase can i see? will it be about the same increase as a stock ski to a stock ski with the jetworks mod?

I like the aftermarket heads. James is right. You will get more low to mid, and some rpms on top too. Hope you got the bolt kit too. I think most agreed the safe torque spec on the SS bolts head bolts was 18 ft lbs. If you got the girdle bolts, they dont need so much torque. 15-16 ft lbs on them. Or use the stock bolts, but you will need to order 4 more. Riva or boats.net should have them. You can crank down on the stockers.

go look at your stock head, you will notice 4 bolts are raised higher than the rest. you need 4 "short" stock bolts to replace the longer ones, all the bolts on the new heads need to be the same length

No. The stock ones will work there. The heads should come with 2 spacers.

I think you will like the riva heads , mine are fine, look good ,no leaks, and better pulling power....always use premium from now on with the heads, dont use copper coat on the head gasket..imo,and remember to use the white sealer that smells kinda lemony ,i think its pst (pipe sealing teflon) and use new bolts ( you should get these in your riva kit)
