Finally got out to test the P-X... advice needed

I went out today to test the P-X with the straight trued up 3 blade 15/19 and 82mm ring. I was all over the rev limiter... I THINK.

The boat would hit 8180 rpms then the rpms would shoot down to 8k or so then up to 8200 then back down, and back and forth and back and forth.. confirm for me that I'm all over the limiter??

I put an 80.5 ring in it and same thing.

Boost was 11 pounds, the boat is a solid 71 - 71.5 MPH mid trim no superman stuff. The highest I saw while trying was 72.7.

So.. a couple things..... how much pitch would you all add to the 3 blade?

ANY guesses on what a 4 blade solas should be pitched at??

I have a 15.5/20.5 trued up and I am assuming that is way to low.

    Advice? Opinions?

By the way... smooth water conditions, no porpoising or coming unhooked.

Your all over the limiter mate.

Get a solas 15/22R 4 blade and pitch it if you have to.

Thanks for confirming the rev-limiter issue.

I have a 15.5/20.5 (which is basically a 15/22 that has been pitched down).

Any idea on what pitch to aim for?

Ditch the 3 blade and get a 15/22. Best thing to do is buy one, see where your RPM's are and go from there in pitching.

Alright.. thanks. Still not giving up on the 3 blade though.

I already have a 4 blade solas from Skat. Sending both down there for a quick repitch.

Just wondered if based on my mods and the info given someone might have something more than start with xxx , as that is what I just did.

I guess it's hard to tell how much RPMS you're high when you're hitting the rev limiter

You can run the 3 blade with a 79mm nozzle ring and see what that does to your r's. Also you could send your 4 blade to speedfreaks and have him pitch it to a 13/23 or something close to that. He will pitch it according to the info you give him and if its not on the money the first time he will re-pitch it for you.

Why a 13/23 vs. a 15/24 or the like? I have someone re-pitching with 24 hour turn around... just trying to get opinions

My guy was thinking a 15.5/21.5 on the 3 blade...

What does the leading edge with such a low number do vs. the higher leading edge?

I agree! 15/22 is the hot ticket!
