    porposing

what is the best way to cure the porposing problem on my rxt? i dont have the re blockoffs. was wondering if shimming the rideplate would be an alternative to the blockoffs. i know it would be less $$$ but i want what ever works best! thanks

Hi I just purchased nib 2008 rxt. I only have a hour on it but I'm concerned what conditions and speed you are having the porposing trbl?

    Hi busa,

I think you would be better off getting the RE's. You are correct though, shimming the ride plate down in back would most likely quell the porpoising, but you might scrub some speed in the process. I've run over 80 with a modified ride plate that many on the board said would cause porpoising, but with the RE's installed, none has ever occurred.

i have jims plate on my ski. i was told i could shim it or put the re's on it. was just wondering how effective are the re's, because i am porposing like a porpose up top and need to fix this.

When I ran Jim's plate on my RXP I cured the porpoise but lost speed with the rear of plate shimmed. I pulled the shims and ran Jims plate with RE's and no more porpoise, I would assume that applies to the RXT also

Very effective. The plate I am running on two RXT/GTX skis is very similar to the Jim's plate, but with an even more aggressive cut/taper. With the RE's there is NO porpoising what so ever. You'd be impressed.

The RE's cured my porpoising instantly. Took about an hour to install and i haven't looked back since. The best money I've spent yet.
