I have a 96 sltx and I just had the carbs rebuilt. today I finaly got my display back so I put it in and hooked up a water hose and started it up which was kind of hard to get started. It was running at 1650 to a little over 1700rpm(depending on when I gave it a little gas). Is that the right idle for out of the water ?

it can be. you dont want high rpm out of the water anyways. id leave it that way until you're in the water. Run the pwc in the water until at operating temperature. 5 minutes. when at correct idle boat should stay stopped at its location and also not die/turn off because of too low of an idle. easy to do when motor at operating temperature at river/lake shore. 2 minutes thats all
i do not know if thats the right idle rpm out of the water.

Idle in the water should be between 1200-1300 in the water. around 2600 or so out of the water.
